People have many different reasons for participating on Twitter and
other social media sites. They range from recreational purposes, making
professional connections, and selling products or services. Whatever
your goal with Twitter, you’re probably wondering how you can attract
more followers.
Of course, publishing interesting Tweets is one way to do that, but it’s
hard to accumulate Twitter followers simply by providing content. You
have to be engaged with other users, and that involves making
connections with them and participating in an exchange of ideas.
There are many tools out there for growing your list of Twitter
followers, but I’ve only found one that is legitimate. Many are simply
selling a version of Twitter spam that doesn’t really accomplish much
for you. Genesis Rocket (formerly called Twitter Rocket) is a
completely different type of tool, and the only one that I’ve found to
be legitimate and worthy of your time.
The program itself is very simple: It helps you add 1,000 or more new
followers to your Twitter account each week. Since I’m a fraud
investigator, I decided I wouldn’t promote this tool until I had tried
it first and verified its legitimacy. It’s legitimate and it works.
It took me about 15 to 20 minutes per day, 5 days per week to use the
program. In the first week I followed the instructions religiously, and
added almost 1,000 new followers to my Twitter account. The second week I
was more relaxed about the process, and I added about 650 new
followers. Those were great results!
How does it work? Each weekday (Monday through Friday) you seek out
Twitter followers within the niche you’re hoping to grow your following,
and strategically connect with them. In return, you attract attention
to your Twitter account and quickly gather new followers.
But it’s not simply about following other on Twitter in the hopes that
they’ll follow you back. It’s about strategically finding others on
Twitter and participating with them on Twitter. Genesis Rocket offers
tools and methods for doing so which have proven to be very successful.
One of the criticisms of the Genesis Rocket program is that it is too
simple and suggests tools that many people already know about. Yes, it
is simple. And yes, the tools are already out there and being utilized
by many. But the value in Genesis Rocket is that I didn’t have to spend
hours researching the hundreds of Twitter tools to determine which were
effective, and I didn’t have to spend even more hours on a
trial-and-error process of determining what works.
The creator of Genesis Rocket has already done all of that work for me,
and it is well worth the $97 price tag for the program. Take a look at
your job, and ask yourself how much it would cost you to spend 10 or 20
hours of your time researching the tools and trying a bunch of them to
see what works? It would probably cost you much more than $97! See the
website at http://www.videoadviceforyou.com/genesisrocket.html
Genesis Rocket is not a gimmick. It does exactly what it says it does.
It helps you add 1,000 more new followers per week if you follow the
program.
What will you do with all those followers? That’s up to you. You might
want to sell a product or service directly to those followers. Maybe
you’re looking for media exposure or connections to other professionals
in your field. You may be interested in just developing a larger
following simply for general marketing purposes. No matter what you
intend to do with all those followers, the first important step is
actually getting them to follow you.

Lindsay Lohan in Consideration to Play Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime Movie
Relax, people - it's only a Lifetime movie. Many
fans of the great Elizabeth Taylor are up in arms over the rumor that
Lindsay Lohan is being considered to play the film legend in an upcoming
movie. And while it remains to be seen whether the rumors have any
truth to them, it's never a bad idea for a producer to float these types
of headline-grabbing stories about a project - even if the initial
public reaction is negative.
Despite her ongoing legal woes and apparent struggles with alcohol and drug addiction, Lindsay Lohan has managed to claw her way back into the news via a Playboy pictorial and the aforementioned rumors about a possible return to acting.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that Lohan was being considered for the role of Taylor, but that the project is still in development and has been since May of last year. The story also mentions the interesting fact that Lohan is now being considered for the role of Liz Taylor, following a Playboy pictorial that was an obvious homage to Marilyn Monroe. Lindsay's apparently tapping some major icons as she attempts to resurrect her career.
Since the Playboy pictorial hit the stands, Lindsay has managed to stay out of the negative spotlight, but it's unclear whether she would be capable of returning to work on a regular basis. That, of course, would be the risk of trying to work with someone like Lohan at this turbulent point in her life. That said, if she managed to hold it together during production and put together a credible performance, there would be tremendous upside, both for herself and for Lifetime.

Some Lovable Characters
A Bunch of Lovable characters...
The All American Handful - Dennis
Hank Ketcham, Creator of Dennis the Menace, described Dennis as sturdy, tireless, and hard-to-catch. Since Dennis' mind was always zinging with curiosity, and imagination, he inevitably found himself in situations far beyond his control. Look at him - a shock of hair, freckles, smudges of paint and chocolate all over, dirty overalls...
Dennis was born in 1951. It is a strange fact, that in post-war America, it was Dennis who ushered in the era of permissive (as opposed to authoritative) parenting, and the creation of a democratic atmosphere at home. Those born in the 50s', would realize that it is permissiveness that has shaped their outlook on life, defining them and describing their relationships.
Life, though, is all about economics, and when the economics shifted, permissiveness was questioned. The changing times had their effect on the dynamics at home. For one, stay-at-home Mums started thinking of getting a job. This was totally out of Dennis' scheme of things. Check this out: When Dennis wants to give Mr. Wilson one of his many 'I'm sorry' cards, he goes over, but since Mr. Wilson is not up yet, he asks Mrs. Wilson if he could leave the card by Mr. Wilson's whisker-cutter. He tells her he has to go to Margaret's home, as they were getting poor, and his Mom had to go to work. Dennis' life was clearly falling apart!
Dennis could drive Mr. Wilson up the wall, but it's just that he wanted to know things; he wanted to know how things worked - the tangible, as well as the intangible.
His appeal was such that he started speaking to both adults and children. Thanks to Dennis, families realized that home was all about give-and-take.
Typical Dennis-isms include: belting our grudges, and then forgetting about them; that it was adults who asked the wrong questions, there was nothing wrong with his answers; and that when he said he was hungry enough to eat a horse, that certainly did not include carrots! Among many others...
He was real enough to say that if one dreamed it was Christmas, and woke to find it wasn't, one would feel too disgusted to even think of getting out of bed. It was the same with the last ice cream truck of summer; when that went away, the feeling of sadness was overwhelming.
Dennis sitting in his chair in the corner, pondering the imponderables is the picture we carry about him.
Calvin - Of Calvin and Hobbes
Shooting around in his characteristic black jeans, red and black striped shirt, and magenta sneakers, this six-year-old is Bill Watterson's gift to us. Calvin is a treat - exuberant and boisterous, he is completely without any restraint in what he says and does.
Calvin was born in 2000, and is named after a 16th century theologian. He has an absolute proclivity to get into trouble. His vivid imagination takes him on the wildest of adventures with his boon companion Hobbes. Hobbes is probably the only one who understands Calvin and sees his good side, since Calvin's insubordinate ways invariably get him into all kinds of scrapes and troubles.
This bright sparkling little boy thinks school is a waste of time, and invents the most outrageous excuses, ever, to get out of doing his work. Miss Wormwood, Calvin's teacher is totally foxed by Calvin. He is a character she has never encountered even in her dreams. His refusal to answer a question citing the excuse that it is against his religious principles, floors her, and leaves her spluttering...
Calvin is wise beyond his years, and has an exhaustive vocabulary to match! He, however, cannot get the better of his parents in the vocabulary game...When Calvin's mother asks him to take out the trash, he comes up with this statement to show why he cannot do this chore: He feels he has been disempowered, because his centering, self-actualizing, anima is in collision with toxic, co-dependent dysfunctionality! Of course when his mother comes back with the retort that he has only temporarily been inconvenienced, he has to take out the trash!
Calvin would not be complete without a word about the faithful Hobbes. Hobbes was named after a 17th century philosopher, who did not have much faith in human nature, and though Hobbes is very dignified and good-natured, he is exceedingly proud of the fact that he is not a human being. He sticks by Calvin through good and bad times, evil and happy times, rocketing and grounded times.
Watterson understood, while creating Calvin, that deep inside all of us is a brat. Reading Calvin, being with him in his adventures, and vicariously living through him, removes the veneer of goody-goodyness, and helps us enjoy being our real selves. Calvin impersonates the most improbable characters, and through him, we too can be Spaceman Spiff, Stupendous Man, and Tracer Bullet, among others.
A wonderful Calvin-ism is the prayer for strength to change what he can, the inability to accept what he can't and the incapacity to tell the difference! Some others are: childhood is short, but maturity is forever; life's disappointments are hard to take, when one doesn't know swear words; that he has to obey the inscrutable exhortations of his soul; and that reality continues to ruin his life.
Charlie Brown
Born in 1950, Charlie Brown is an utterly lovable loser. He, however, is possessed of great determination, and though he is always hopeful, his insecurities end up dominating him, making him a 'permanent case of bad luck.' Fact is, there is a Charlie Brown in all of us, and when we are with Charlie Brown, the world doesn't end up looking bleak. Charles M. Shulz, Charlie Brown's creator made him funny-cute and wise. He often verbalizes our feelings, and our reactions to life.
Charlie Brown has many friends, but his best friend is Linus, who always stands by him, puts him on the right track, and on occasion even offers wise counsel.
The classic Charlie Brown incident is when Lucy mocks him and challenges him to kick a football she is holding. Time and time again, despite promises and written commitments, Lucy reneges and Charlie Brown ends up on his back, limbs flailing.
Left to himself and his friends, Charlie Brown happily goes about exploring the meaning of life.
Charlie Brown's philosophy is wonderful - he only dreads one day at a time! His theory of the secret to life is to replace one worry with another.
Another favorite Charlie Brown-ism is that he does not believe in solving problems right away. He believes that you need to give problems time, simply so that they can go away!

Kate Gosselin Sets Sail in Search of a Paycheck
Critics are panning Kate Gosselin's decision to take her talents to sea,
calling it a "Hail Mary" attempt to rejuvenate her sagging career. Many
close to her concede that she is taking the gig because she desperately
needs the money, given that her primary revenue streams of the past
appear to have dried up. And while Gosselin doesn't appear to enjoy a
lavish lifestyle by Hollywood standards, she dramatically increased her
cost of living relative to the middle-class lifestyle she enjoyed before
gaining fame on Jon & Kate Plus 8.
Now, Kate is going to be headlining a celebrity cruise and she'll continue her work as a blogger for CouponCabin.com. But we know she's not making that much money as a guest blogger, so the cruise idea is likely one of her final attempts to capitalize on her 15 minutes of fame.
Kate's demise as a celebrity is really a result of her grating personality, which, had it been any different, might have allowed her to ride her wave of fame much longer. When she first hit the airwaves as a young wife and mother of eight children, the family's struggles were endearing and captivated a large viewership. But as the show became the focus of their lives, it was obvious that Kate was becoming more controlling and abrasive. Even that was OK and somewhat entertaining while her weakling husband Jon was in the picture to endure her abuse.
But after Jon Gosselin departed the show and Kate's life, she was left with just her personality to carry things. And that wasn't a good fit for her or the show's viewers. It only took a season for things to break down when Kate was the "star" of the show. And now the ride is over.

TV's Most Overrated Actors
The world can be roughly divided into two parts - TV lovers and TV bashers.
Television, for most of us, is a good stress reliever. The following
people, on the other hand, are the ones bringing a bad name to TV. As in
the case of all good things, these party poopers make you want to smash
your TV with your bare hands. I present you a list of people who bring
out murderous tendencies in regular humans with their antics.
Highly Overrated Actors on TV
David Spade
Just Shoot Me! before I do, as David Spade keeps attempting to suck the joy out of television! Saturday Night Live showed us the amusingly sarcastic side of David Spade. After Rules of Engagement, the audiences decided that they have had enough versions of his sharp-tongued, dwarfy and skirt-chasing characters.
David Caruso
Take a bow, Lieutenant Horatio Caine, as David Caruso enters this list with honors. He chooses to portray every complex emotion by wearing and removing his sunglasses. To that, he adds some crass one-liners delivered in a deep monotone. Crime solving on CSI: Miami hits a hilarious low.
Sarah Jessica Parker
Sex and the City may have created a sartorial revolution, but the equine-faced Sarah deserves a lot of flak for portraying the thirty plus Carrie as a giddy sixteen year old. Thank heavens for the Vivienne Westwood outfits and the Manolo Blahnik footwear that shifted the spotlight from Ms. Parker's juvenile attempts at acting.
Jennifer Love Hewitt
This Ghost Whisperer had her job all sorted out. A maximum of two expressions fleeted across Jennifer Love Hewitt's face throughout the time the show was aired. A collective sigh of relief was heard in some quarters when this show was abruptly pulled off the air.
Miley Cyrus
A chubby face that sings in a high school, Miley Cyrus fulfills the requirements for being a preteen idol. As far as her acting abilities are concerned, the less said, the better. Let us hope she manages to gain some of that when she loses her baby fat.
Charlie Sheen
Was Charlie Sheen actually acting on Two And A Half Men? If not for the laughter track, it seemed like a reality show, giving a glimpse into his personal world. The slow speech, the lost eyes looked so natural, it could be termed 'method acting', except for the fact that it was not.
Ashton Kutcher
The role of Michael Kelso on That 70's Show embodied the spirit of Ashton Kutcher. He followed it with Punk'd, which reinstated the fact that Ashton Kutcher equalled bad television. He seemed to have done a huge favor to television audiences by moving over to the big screen. We can now touch our remote without the fear of getting punk'd. Rejoice!
David Hasselhoff
So what's with this list and the name 'David', as they all seem to hatch a conspiracy to annihilate television? Before all the episodes of drunken rants happened, David Hasselhoff was a Baywatch star (not actor, but star) who didn't even bring any star value to the show. Can't really blame the guy, can you, when you had Pamela, Carmen and Yasmin grabbing all the eyeballs.
Other Overrated Actors on TV
The stellar names above deserved a special mention, for reasons of mass aversion. Here are a few more actors who have unknowingly unleashed an epidemic of misery on the viewers. Let us hope they spare us the agony of viewing them on television in 2012.

Adult Film Industry Threatens to Leave Los Angeles Over Condom Controversy
Los Angeles, and specifically the San Fernando
Valley, is the undisputed home of the porn industry. It is estimated
that approximately 90% of the adult films produced in the United States
come from the Los Angeles area. The new city ordinance that has just
passed the Los Angeles city council by a 9-1 vote would require that all
actors in adult films created within the city wear condoms. This has
drawn the ire of the adult film industry, which claims that it is
already highly regulated and that its actors are required to be tested
at least every 30 days for STDs and other blood-borne pathogens.
The film industry is also claiming that there is no market for adult films that contain the use of condoms, especially internationally. And with the struggling economy and the ubiquity of free Internet pornography, the adult film industry is already struggling.
Of course, the simple answer for the adult film producers is to simply move their operations outside the Los Angeles area. "The only thing that the city could potentially achieve is losing some film permit money and driving some productions away, but you can't actually compel an industry to create a product that the market doesn't want," said Christian Mann, general manager of Evil Angel, one of the largest production companies in the adult film industry.
The other side of the argument comes from groups like the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which points out that California state law already requires the use of condoms when workers are exposed to blood-borne pathogens. The group notes that the law is rarely followed or enforced in the state and that the new city ordinance is designed to help with that enforcement effort.

Paula Deen Facing Backlash for Diabetes Revelation
Paula Deen revealed earlier this week that she was diagnosed with Type 2
Diabetes about three years ago, even though she never revealed her
condition and continued to promote the high-fat, decadent meals that
have become her signature. As a result, she's facing a firestorm of
criticism, from within the food industry and the general public, that
she is a hypocrite. Some, including celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain,
have openly stated their opposition to Deen's actions: "When your
signature dish is hamburger in between a doughnut, and you've been
cheerfully selling this stuff knowing all along that you've got Type 2
diabetes, it's in bad taste if nothing else."
Deen counters with the fact that she didn't feel comfortable revealing her diagnosis because she didn't feel like she had an appropriate amount of information or helpful advice to offer her viewers. But now that she has been hired as a spokesperson for diabetes medication and she continues to promote her traditional Southern fare, many are questioning whether that's the right approach.
"I am who I am," said Deen. "I think the South gets a bad rap sometimes, saying our food is very unhealthy, but frankly I don't think that's the case. I think it's like any other food, whether it be Italian, French, Cajun. They all can be very high in calories and that's where we have to practice portion control and moderation."
And while there is certainly an element of hypocrisy - or at least poor form - to what Deen has done, it's also silly to suggest that Deen is somehow encouraging people to eat the types of meals she makes on her show regularly. Anyone who has watched an episode of her cooking show knows that it's not the type of food to incorporate into your daily diet. It is Southern comfort food for special occasions and nothing more.

Rob Lowe Won't Reveal Source for Peyton Manning Retirement Tweets
Rob Lowe sat down with Ellen DeGeneres yesterday and discussed his now
infamous tweets about the possible retirement of legendary Indianapolis
Colts' quarterback Peyton Manning. Lowe explained to Ellen that he's a
"regular guy" who is a huge Colts fan and a huge Peyton Manning fan. He
said that he tweets regularly about sports and that this was just
another example of that. Of course, Lowe implied in his tweets that he
had a credible source for the Manning retirement rumor: "Hearing my
fave, #18 Peyton Manning will not return to #NFL," Lowe wrote. "Wow.
#Colts. My people are saying Manning will retire today. What do you
hear? Colts fans, let's hope my info is wrong. Don't like being wrong,
but this time...I'm hoping."
The major sports and news outlets quickly tried to confirm the rumor, but the only official word is that Manning has no plans to retire or make any sort of announcement in the near future. Manning is still recovering from neck fusion surgery that forced him to miss the entire 2011 NFL season. Given the uncertain nature of his injury and recovery, it's certainly possible that he may be forced to retire or possibly move on to another team during the upcoming offseason.
When asked by Ellen where he heard the scoop, Lowe declined to reveal his source, stating simply, "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you." Well played, Rob Lowe. If Lowe's Colts' fandom is to be believed, it's a safe assumption that he was simply tweeting what he felt was credible information about Peyton Manning, probably assuming that others would have heard something as well. We'll find out soon enough whether Rob Lowe's source was correct.

Original Tuskegee Airmen Attend "Red Tails" Screening
George Lucas’ latest film, "Red Tails," tells the
story of the Tuskegee Airmen, fighter pilots who were part of an
all-black World War II squadron. Starring Terrence Howard and Cuba
Gooding, Jr., the movie is set in 1944, as the war in Europe was still
raging on and the outcome uncertain. Short on pilots, the U.S. military
at that time already had in place what was considered an "experimental"
program of all African-American pilots – the so-called "Tuskegee
training program." The pilots were young and not tested in battle, but
needs dictated that they were forced into the precarious situation.
Last Friday, three of the original aviators from the group attended a special screening of the movie, and were honored for their courage and contributions to the U.S. war effort. The movie has been called a "passion project" of Lucas’, and he apparently spent $58 million of his own money to make the film.
Director Anthony Hemingway noted that his job was intense. Said Hemingway, "I went to Tuskegee, Alabama and actually had the chance to look into the eyes of living history and when I looked into their eyes and connected with them it really it, it registered and the weight of the world was on my shoulders at that point." Added Hemingway, "It's not a shock that the system or Hollywood didn't want to tell the story. We're thankful that George did what he did and had the passion to....help tell this history." Red Tails also opened nationwide in U.S. theaters on Friday.

WikiLeaks' Founder Julian Assange Launches Television Talk Show
WikiLeaks now has information on Julian Assange -
and the rumor is that the site's highly controversial founder is
planning on producing his own television talk show. The site claims that
Assange plans a show that will explore the world from the perspectives
of some of the most powerful and influential people that, perhaps, we've
never heard of. There is no word at this time as to who might be a
guest on Assange's show, nor where or how the show will be filmed.
Assange is currently fighting a legal battle to avoid extradition to Sweden on charges of sexual assault and misconduct, so it's unclear exactly how the show is going to be managed. But, Assange's post on WikiLeaks is very clear about his vision for the show: "Through this series I will explore the possibilities for our future in conversations with those who are shaping it. Are we heading towards utopia, or dystopia and how we can set our paths? This is an exciting opportunity to discuss the vision of my guests in a new style of show that examines their philosophies and struggles in a deeper and clearer way than has been done before."
The press release about the show notes the ongoing upheaval in the Middle East and the breakdown of the rule of law and the sovereign economic crises engulfing the West. Assange believes he is well-positioned to host a show that attempts to identify the complex machinations that are occurring around the globe and to explore how individuals can engage with one another to effect a more positive outcome.
WikiLeaks' notes that the Assange show will air in ten weekly half-hour segments, beginning in the middle of March of this year.

Surprises and Other News from the 2012 Oscar Nominations
Some surprises and some apparent snubs came out
yesterday morning as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
announced the Oscar nominations for the 2012 Academy Awards. While
Rooney Mara was nominated for best actress for her role in "The Girl
with the Dragon Tattoo," the director of the film, David Fincher, was
left off the list for best director, and the movie itself was left off
the list for best picture. Tilda Swinton was presumably booted from
contention for best actress by virtue of Mara’s inclusion.
Going in, many thought that Michael Fassbender’s portrayal of a sex addict in Steve McQueen’s "Shame" would make him a surefire bet for a best actor nominations, but he was mysteriously left out. On the other hand, Demian Bichir was nominated for his role as a gardener living in Los Angeles in the film "A Better Life." Another selection that was something of a surprise was the inclusion of Jonah Hill, better known for his comedic work, getting a nod for his work in "Moneyball," with Brad Pitt.
One of the biggest mysteries going into the selection process was the number of films that would be nominated for best picture. A new rule dictates that each nominee for best picture must receive at least 5% of the votes from the 5,783 voting members. Many thought that this would reduce the field dramatically, though 9 films were still nominated with the new rules in place. Among the surprises in this category were "Extremely Loud & Incredibly close" and "The Tree of Life." Left off the list were the aforementioned "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and "Bridesmaids."
